There are frequent sailings to Lundy Island from Ilfracombe harbour, a few minutes walk away. The MV Oldenburg takes you out to the island on a day trip, with enough time to walk around the island and have some refreshment in the Marisco Tavern before returning.
North Devon Theatres
About 3 minutes walk away is the Landmark Theatre on the seafront. There is an excellent choice of shows and events that take place all year as well as the Gallery cafe overlooking the sea.

Ilfracombe Aquarium is based in the old Ilfracombe Lifeboat Station on the harbour and tells the story of a stream from up on Exmoor to the sea. It makes a fascinating visit.
Chambercombe Manor
Chambercombe Manor is a short drive or 20 minute walk away. This haunted Manor has many a story to tell of smuggling and secret rooms. Having taken the tour an excellent cream tea or other refreshment is available in their cafe.
Bicclescombe Park
Bicclescombe Park is a delightful park on the edge of Ilfracombe. It offers some gentle walks or for the more energetic a game of tennis. Watch the ducks on the lake and stream that runs through the park. Enjoy an ice cream served from the old mill.
Clovelly Village
Clovelly is an old fishing village clinging to a steep valley. There are no cars, just ponies on the steep cobbled streets. The Visitor Centre above the village gives you a taste of what the village used to be like. You can enjoy refreshments in the Visitor Centre or in the various establishments in the village itself.
Watermouth Castle
Watermouth Castle is a joy for children and parents. About a 10 minute drive away, it is located on a most pictureque part of the North Devon coast. There is plenty to do there and makes a great day out.
